Tripwyze ("we", "us") helps you plan trips with your group. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what you give us to plan your trips, we share it only with the services needed to run the product, we do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell your personal data.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and an optional profile photo.
- Travel profile: details you choose to add, such as home airport and city, travel pace, interests, seat/meal/cabin preferences, airline loyalty, TSA PreCheck or Global Entry status, and passport expiry date.
- Health-related preferences you volunteer: dietary restrictions, food allergies, and accessibility needs. We use these only to tailor suggestions (for example, flagging allergy-safe restaurants) and to share them with your trip group as described below. Add them only if you want them used this way.
- People you add: names, relations, and preferences of travel companions who do not have accounts (for example, your kids). These are entered by you, visible to you, your household, and the trips they join, and can be removed by their owner at any time.
- Trip content: trips, itineraries, flights, stays, packing and grocery lists, expenses and settlements, polls, photos, and notes. Notes may include things like confirmation codes, door codes, and WiFi passwords if you choose to save them; they are stored to show back to you and your trip group.
- Forwarded booking emails: if you forward a confirmation email to your trip's import address, we process its contents to extract the booking and attach it to your trip.
- AI chat messages: conversations with the Tripwyze assistant inside a trip are stored so you can pick them back up.
- Payment status: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers; we keep only your subscription status and Stripe reference IDs.
2. How we use it
- To run the product: build itineraries, track flights, split expenses, generate packing lists, and keep your group in sync.
- To generate AI suggestions and answers tailored to your trip and preferences.
- To send you service email: invitations, trip reminders, digests, and account email (confirmation, password reset). You can control non-essential email from your profile.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (rate limiting, access controls).
3. Sharing with your trip group
Tripwyze is a group product. Content you add to a trip (itinerary items, stays, expenses, notes, polls, photos) is visible to the other people on that trip, and certain profile details relevant to group planning (name, dietary restrictions, allergies, home airport) are visible to your trip companions so the group can plan around them. Items you mark as personal or private are shown only to you. People in your linked household can see and edit the companions ("My People") either of you has added.
4. Service providers we share data with
We share data with the services below strictly to operate Tripwyze. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- Google Gemini (Google AI): powers AI features. Your requests plus relevant trip context (destination, dates, preferences, group needs such as allergies) are sent to generate responses.
- Google Maps / Google Places: location searches, place details, photos, and maps.
- Duffel: flight and hotel search and booking when you use the finder and checkout features.
- AeroDataBox: live flight status for flights on your trips.
- OpenWeatherMap: weather forecasts for your destinations.
- Stripe: subscription payments and billing management.
- Resend: sends our email and receives booking emails you forward to your trip.
- Supabase: our database and authentication provider; your account data and trip content are stored here.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Tripwyze and its users.
5. Cookies
Tripwyze uses only the cookies needed to run the product: authentication cookies that keep you signed in, and local preferences such as your theme. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or third-party analytics. Blocking cookies in your browser will prevent signing in.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Trips you delete are removed along with their content. To delete your account and associated personal data, email support@tripwyze.io from your account email and we will process the deletion within 30 days, except where we must retain records (for example, payment records) to meet legal obligations.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Most of your data is directly viewable and editable in the app; for anything else, email support@tripwyze.io and we will respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and we do not sell personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of selling.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is scoped per user and per trip, and payment details never touch our servers. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we design for least access throughout.
9. Children
Tripwyze accounts are for people 13 and older, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Adults may add basic details about the children they travel with (name, age, preferences); that information is provided and controlled by the adult, used only for trip planning, and removable by them at any time.
10. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app.
